What is a coffee nudge?
A coffee nudge is a hot coffee cocktail made with brandy, liqueur, and creme de cacao—usually topped with whipped cream (and chocolate sprinkles).
How to make a coffee nudge
Ingredients
- 1 ounce of coffee liqueur
- 1/2-1 ounce of brandy
- 1/2-1 ounce of crème de cacao
- 1 cup of hot coffee
- Whipped cream (for topping)
- Grated chocolate, cocoa powder, or chocolate sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
Steps
- Mix liqueur, brandy, and crème de cacao in a mug (preferably an Irish coffee cup).
- Pour coffee over.
- Top with whipped cream and garnish.
- Enjoy your coffee nudge!
Coffee nudge tips
I usually use one ounce of brandy and crème de cacao, because it’s just easier to remember. But I’m not there to tell you how to live your life.
Conversion reminder if you’re not a bartender: 1 ounce = 2 Tablespoons. So that’s:
- 2 Tablespoons of coffee liqueur
- 1-2 Tablespoons of brandy
- 1-2 Tablespoons of crème de cacao
- 1 cup of hot coffee
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate garnish
